Bridge Walker

Teresa Ichsan is a natural leader, mother, mentor, partner and is a self-proclaimed “bridge walker.”

Growing up in Southern California and moving around quite a bit as a kid, Teresa learned to adapt to her changing environments early in her life. As the youngest of three children raised by her single mother, Teresa grew up poor and faced housing instability in her adolescence. Despite her circumstances, she learned to be street smart, independent and resourceful.

Passion

for Service

To avoid becoming a product of her environment, Teresa knew she had to move away from her hometown of Long Beach, California when she decided to pursue college in San Francisco where she eventually graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication.  It was at college that Teresa deepened her passion of service, leadership and using her life experiences to help others and started her career in nonprofit in the affordable housing sector.
